Environmental Management

The foundation of Consolidated Property Services environment and sustainability platform is to be proactive in protecting and enhancing the natural environment, culture and heritage of the commercial sector through the incorporation of ecologically sustainable development principles, across all areas of operations.

Consolidated understands that in order for a building to successfully reach environmental objectives, it is critical that the cleaning services align. As the industry increasingly focuses on the performance of buildings, Consolidated offers practical sensible solutions to ensure that the new best practice sustainability elements are integrated into each individual building and tenancy.

Environmental Management System

Our Environmental Management System was developed as part of Consolidated’s strategy for environmental certification to standard ISO 14001:2004. As a proven industry leader, we remain at the forefront by being one of a select few contractors, who have achieved environmental certification. Annual external audits (NCSI) confirm our measurable continual improvement.

This ‘best practice’ system is in accordance with our Environmental and Sustainability Policy and is the driver which ensures:

  • Compliance of our environmental responsibilities
  • A systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets
  • The environmental aspects of our operation are identified
  • Controls are implemented to minimise any impact our business might have on the environment
  • Continual improvement of our environmental performance
  • The ability to provide environmental initiatives and options to clients

Environmental Solutions

Led by the ‘General Manager of Sustainability and Environment’, Consolidated will follow a systematic process to ensure that each site is meeting the environmental objectives and targets. Through developing a partnership with the property manager, effective stakeholder management, clear communication, training and consistent evaluation, Consolidated aims to ‘close the loop’.

Consolidated has recently developed a measurable five step recycling program which has the specific objective of reducing the amount of waste being diverted to landfill and is offered exclusively to clients of Consolidated. The program is an end to end recycling system which will lead our clients from the assessment stage through to implementation and evaluation.
